Bristow & Sutor donates £5000 to The Trussell Trust

Bristow & Sutor, one of the UK’s leading players in local authority debt recovery, based in Washford, Redditch, has made a substantial donation to The Trussell Trust.  

The Trussell Trust supports a nationwide network of over 1,200 food banks and provides emergency food and support to people locked in poverty. The charity campaigns for change to end the need for food banks in the UK. Donations made to the trust helps them offer a minimum of three days’ nutritionally-balanced emergency food to people who have been referred in crisis, as well as support to help people resolve the crises they face.

Agents regularly assist debtors with completing questionnaires, setting up payment arrangements and directing them towards support and advice where appropriate. They are trained to the highest standard and use modern technology and data to achieve market-leading performance, whilst protecting the most vulnerable in society and the reputations of clients. The company has donated £5,000 to help The Trussell Trust over the festive period.

Economic, social and environmental well-being is a key aspect of collections and enforcement activity and the coronavirus pandemic has only strengthened our resolve. We are delighted to have been able to make a significant financial contribution to The Trussell Trust as well and support the fantastic work they do.”  

In addition to this cash donation, Bristow & Sutor employees, many of whom live in the midlands, have also provided bags of food and supplies to help their local food banks cope throughout the festive period.

Kim Parsons, Group Employee Experience Manager, delivered the donated items, she said, “We are very proud of our community spirit at Bristow & Sutor and the decision to make these donations. My boot was full of bags gifted by our employees and included everything from tins of food, toiletries, baby milk and lots more.”  

Last month, Bristow & Sutor donated several boxes of PPE to Citizens Advice in Birmingham, to help ensure access to impartial debt advice is not restricted for anyone in the community at this important time. Prior to enforcement activity resuming at the end of August, all members of Bristow & Sutor staff have been trained on the use of PPE and must pass an industry approved course before being allowed to conduct visits. They are not permitted to enter properties currently, so any resolution found is done so in a socially distanced manner from the doorstep.
