Training

Bristow & Sutor has made considerable investment in staff training and resources. Our staff undergo in-depth training that is linked to our internal performance appraisal system and externally audited as part of the ISO 9001:2000 process.

  • 3 month training programme for all bailiffs
• legislative, operational and goods valuation training
• mentoring scheme until competent and certificated
• continuous improvement & career progression
• internal promotion policy
• dedicated training facility
• new technologies and client requirements

We pride ourselves on continuous improvement and career progression for all staff. With over 160 bailiffs, we have one of the largest directly employed groups of certificated bailiffs supported by an office team of a ratio greater than 1:1. All bailiffs are encouraged to sit the Enforcement Services Association (ESA) examination to qualify their knowledge of distress law.

Bailiffs are committed to a 3 month training programme including:

• legislative procedures
• internal procedures and
• the valuation of goods.

Assigned to a mentor, they operate with a certificated bailiff until proven fully competent and awarded certification.

Regular refresher courses are conducted in a dedicated training room to develop and improve all staff to new technologies, procedures, legislation and individual client requirements.
